Solution

ARDEX Sales Professional Matt Eller worked with Texas Concrete Restoration, Inc., to ensure the right materials were selected for the job. ARDEX Engineered Concrete Repair Systems (ECRS) products were selected, because they are easy to use as one component mixtures, they are very strong and durable, and they set very fast.

The damaged sections of the vertical concrete barriers were bush hammered and prepared to receive ARDEX B 20™ Overhead & Vertical Repair Mortar, a fast-setting mortar that can be placed from 1/4” to 2” deep in just one lift.

The damaged surface of the highway was scarified to remove concrete and loose materials. Edges were saw cut then the area was cleaned of debris.

The prepared area, approximately 1/2” deep, was coated with ARDEX BACA™ Bonding & Anti-Corrosion Agent to allow for a strong and fast bond of the repair mortar to the existing concrete. ARDEX TRM™ Transportation Repair Mortar was screeded into the prepared section of the highway. ARDEX TRM allows foot traffic in 2 hours and vehicles in just 6 hours.

The ARDEX high-performance products worked perfectly on this hot summer day in Dallas. The repaired area was opened to the evening rush hour traffic on time.

Texas Concrete Restoration, Inc. is a full service concrete restoration and structural repair company and a member of the International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI). The combination of TCR’s expertise and the high-performance of ARDEX ECRS products made an impossible task possible. The outstanding partnership between the trades and installers resulted in the completion of a massive complex repair in the short window of time.
